For over 20 years, Automotive dealers have worked side-by-side with parents and teachers in their communities to raise more than $6 million for local schools.

Drive for the Kids events combine a test drive fundraiser with an activity already on an elementary or middle school’s calendar (a pancake breakfast, a school carnival, etc.). For 3 ½ to 4 hours during the school event, the local dealer conducts short test drives with parents, teachers, and guests at the event. For every test drive completed at the event, we donate $10 to the school.

Drive for the Kids is a turnkey promotion with no out-of-pocket cost for dealers. A Drive for the Kids field representative schedules and coordinates the event, works with dealership personnel and parents throughout, and handles the paperwork to process the contribution.

Dealers bring 4-8 new 2 vehicles to the event. Dealership staff conduct test drives and answer questions during the event.

The Parent-Teacher Organization (PTA/PTO) sponsors the Drive for the Kids. Parent volunteers work to promote the test drive fundraiser.  One event day, parent volunteers assist with paperwork and other tasks to ensure plenty of test drives..
